Invitation to Psychological Support for Indigenous People

We are a group of psychologists from the Indigenous Network (USP), and we have created this welcoming space for Indigenous individuals seeking psychological support. Our aim is to offer a safe and professional environment for connection and qualified therapeutic listening.

These counseling sessions are held on a regular basis, usually once a week, and provide an opportunity to share feelings, stories, fears, worries, joys, and more.

Individual sessions are a space to explore personal and sensitive topics, supported by the ethical commitment of our professionals to confidentiality.

All psychologists in our team have undergone training through the Indigenous Network, which prepares them to be sensitive to the political, historical, and cultural specificities of Indigenous peoples.

The counseling services began at the House of Indigenous Cultures, located within the Institute of Psychology at USP. In response to health guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently offering online sessions. Those interested in receiving support will need access to a smartphone or computer with an internet connection.

If you are Indigenous and looking for psychological support—or if you simply have questions about the service—please reach out to us!

We are accepting registrations for psychological counseling until July 15, 2021. To register, send an email to atendimentoredeindigena@usp.br with your name, phone number, and a short message sharing your reasons for seeking support.
