2nd Meeting Indigenous Psychology, Health and Well-Being

This Nhemboaty is part of an event series hosted by the Indigenous Care Network, linked to the Institute of Psychology at the University of São Paulo. This series began in October 2024 and is now in its second edition. This listening session aims to deepen understandings of health and well-being practices and environments, fostering dialogue between Indigenous and academic communities.
The second meeting will feature insightful reflections from Māori researchers, including:
- Darrin Hodgetts: Professor at Massey University, specializing in critical social psychology, with a focus on social determinants of health and human flourishing.
- Linda Waimarie Nikora: Professor at the University of Auckland, known for her work in developing Indigenous psychology and researching Māori well-being and identity.
- Minh Hieu T Nguyen: Professor at Massey University, expert in sustainable development and livelihoods, actively collaborating with communities in Vietnam.
- Mohi Rua: Associate Professor at the University of Auckland, focusing on Māori health, urban poverty, and Indigenous theories on identity and well-being.
- Pita King: Senior Lecturer at Massey University, studying Indigenous psychology and Māori subjectivities in response to colonial challenges.
- Shiloh Groot: Associate Professor at the University of Auckland, interdisciplinary researcher in resilience, health inequalities, and the well-being of marginalized populations.
